Bloomingdale's Bliss

Girl's just wanna have fun, and fun we had at the Bloomingdale's sale. Jess, Kim and I went to White Plains NY to curb our cravings for fabulousness. That we did! As our eyes grew bigger our boy's wallets grew smaller. Good influences we were not as we convinced each other that the items we tried on were definitely made for us. We walked out like bandits as we saved hundreds of dollars. You may be thinking how do you really save when you spend. That is irrelevant and wouldn't even cross your minds if you saw the greatness we now own. After our exhausting adventure at Bloomingdale's we headed to the cheesecake factory for a "LITTLE" lunch. We of course got the artichoke appetizer and then we all ordered the same salad. They were enormous! Thank goodness we got the lunch portion. You definitely get your dollars worth. Our day wouldn't have been complete without some cheesecake to go. It was such a perfect way to spend a Friday. Thanks ladies for the dental hygiene laughs and such a fun day! Xo Xo

The Yale Game

Our friend John invited us to go see the Yale vs. Columbia game on Saturday. We had always wondered what an Ivy League football game would be like, so we accepted the invitation. The best way to put it is this: The players don't join the team to become NFL stars. It's basically a bunch of smart kids running around getting some exercise. It's about a step up from high school ball. We watched the game for a few minutes and laughed a little at the tiny stadium and the band with like 3 tubas and a drummer. But non the less it was fun. We mostly tailgated the entire day. John brought like a 5ft subway sandwich and drinks and chips etc. We sat and enjoyed the unbelievably gorgeous day, the company, and throwing footballs around. Thanks for the invite John! We love you guys! Xo Xo!

At Yale Stadium. The Columbia side was packed! LOL

Halloween in the City

We decided to spare little kids cavities this year and choose to spend Halloween night down in NYC. I picked up my friend Nancy who is here as an Au Pair for our CT family Katherine, John, and baby Alex. Nancy is from Germany so I thought it would be fun to go celebrate Halloween together down in the city.
We drove down around 6:00pm and parked in the upper west side. Then took the subway to the village where the Halloween Parade takes place. We were going to dress up but we didn't want to feel like huge dorks taking the subway in our costumes. Plus we didn't plan on walking in the parade so we didn't see the point. Well to our surprise EVERYONE was dressed up. We were about the only ones on the subways and in the city that were dressed for the cold. Well truth be told it was a perfect night in NYC and the weather was gorgeous. So most of the time we didn't even need our coats. We finally found a clearing in the crowd and got to watch the parade. There were some pretty great costumes and people would stop and pose for anyone who wanted to take pictures. Everyone was down there for a great time, everyone was friendly and having a blast.
After the parade we decided to go get some dinner. We headed down to time square and went to Hard Rock where we enjoyed the music and had dinner. When our waiter came Nancy looked at me and said "is that a man?". I almost died laughing!! We had this fabulous gay waiter who before we arrived was dressed as a Geisha. He couldn't serve in his dress so he was just left with his bun and makeup. He was so hilarious and didn't want another table at that time of night, so he held us hostage and wanted us to hang out. He would come and sit with us and chat and kept getting us refills etc. Finally at 1:00am we told him we had to go get our car before the garage closed. We took the subway back to our car and headed home. Nancy and I fell asleep and poor Colin had to drive us home. What a good man!! We dropped Nancy off and we got home around 3:00am. We had such a blast in the city! It was such a great way to spend Halloween!!! Xo Xo!
